When I am not in the lab or in the field, I like to spend my time painting or drawing.

I think all scientists should have a hobby that allows their mind to roam free away from all of the nucleotides and gene expression matrices. As a scientist, it is very easy to get caught up in the work, and hobbies allow us an escape. More times than not, I return to science rejuvenated and with a fresh pair of eyes.
